Ponderation

Two people have the exact same reaction to something. Do great minds think alike? or is it fools seldom differ?

"Wow, I thought that movie was the worst thing I ever saw!"
"Same here. I thought about walking out!"

On the one hand, it sounds like you two are great minds. But you then meet five people who profess that it's one of the greatest movies of all time.

Now are you two still great minds, or have you become "fools" by virtue of popular opinion?

depends on who the people is. if courtney and lindsay respond in the same way, its great minds think alike.(:D) HOWEVER, if, saaaaaaay, erika and i respond in the same way, i think its fools seldom differ. so, thats how i see it. if two fools respond alike, youre not gonna say to them "great minds think aliiike!!!" and encourage them in their foolhardiness. im waxing majorly profound, gotta go, afore i drown you in my deep thoughts. :):):)

Let's face it. Even though you don't know it, thousands of people think the same thing at the relative same time. This is why we have patents and and copyrights. In elaboration on Scarlett's post, it depends on what the great minds think about as well. Hitler and Himmler agreed on the same things, but they weren't thought of as "Great". Poor Ghandi had trouble finding people to think alike, and he is thought of as "great".

That is not to say, however, that just because you have two minds in agreeance, or one deying, that the one becomes right, soley based on the virtue of the number of people who agree upon it. You must use your discernment to determine whether the conclusion of the question is right, or wrong.

If it is right, then great minds think alike. If, in your well-educated, well-rounded reasoning, you find that you and this other person are wrong, then fools seldom differ.

It is like Scarlett hinted at... Anyone who decides to agree with Erika is a fool. ;)

That is why we have facts. Two people can agree a tapir is indeed a horse, but it is a tapir. What happens when the minority says it's a tapir, but the magority says it's a horse? Do we rename said animal because names are relative?

NO!

I TELL YOU, WE DON'T!
